2021 Superheroes Awards

We are so proud of all our health and social care heroes across the Envivo Group who have been there for the people we support and each other through such uncertain times.

Our Superheroes Awards was launched in December 2020 and is now an annual event. We asked our colleagues and the people they support to tell us about a person they support or a colleague who has done something amazing or achieved a milestone. It is also a chance for people to let us know if there is anyone they wanted to say a big thank you to, for going the extra mile. 

This year we have received 180 nominations from the people we support and colleagues across the Envivo Group, celebrating the incredible achievements and stories of our Superheroes.

Congratulations to our 2021 Superheroes…

  • Rebecca Masters Superhero 2021

    Rebecca Masters

    Housekeeping Manager, Fieldbay

    Rebecca was nominated as a superhero for always going the extra mile for the people we support and colleagues. One example of this was when a person we support had a wedding anniversary coming up – at VERY short notice, Rebecca cleaned, tidied, and set up an area in what was then the Cwtch for the gentleman and his wife to have a dinner together – out of nowhere, appeared a lovely table set up with tablecloths, hearts and flowers, relaxing background music and cosy lighting. The individual we support was clearly very happy with this, and his wife was delighted. Rebecca is always the first person to offer assistance with the people we support – these actions may appear small to some people but to the people living at Cwm Gelli Lodge they mean the world. All these things and more that Becky does with a happy heart and genuine care.

  • Steve Daniels Superhero 2021

    Steve Daniels

    Operational Excellence Partner, Envivo Group

    Steve joined the Quality team a year ago and during this time has become an invaluable member of the team. Steve goes above and beyond to provide support to his colleagues, within his team and through operational support, rolling out Nappi training and directly supporting both people we support and colleagues to better understand situations that arise and find solutions improving the quality of life for the people we support. Steve’s passion and commitment to the roll out of Nappi was admirable ensuring that this was tailored to suit individuals and never just a one size fits all session. Watching Steve in action is truly special and his kind-hearted nature shines through in everything he does.

  • Chantelle M Superhero 2021

    Chantelle M

    Person we Support at Heathcotes

    Chantelle has lived at Heathcotes’ for approaching 2 years. During this time Chantelle has made massive progress since first moving in and is now the first of the people we support to find accommodation in one of our new flats. Chantelle has progressed massively in this time and actively helps in the service as a “Team Leader Supporter”. Chantelle plays an integral role in the service by being a positive role model to both colleagues and people we support. Chantelle is a very kind and caring person who goes out of her way to make others happy, which is predominantly other people we support, showing a level of compassion and understanding that is second to none. Chantelle deserves this for these reasons and the massive progress she has made in her own life in becoming more independent and constantly exceeding people’s expectations. She is a credit to herself and the staff that have encouraged and supported her.

  • Natalie Turner Superhero

    Natalie Turner

    Deputy Manager, TLC Care and Support

    Natalie received seven nominations from her colleagues for the compassion, dedication and hardwork that she demonstrates to colleagues and the people we support at TLC. Here’s a snippet as to why… This year Natalie has conducted the transition of an individual into one of the services supporting their family liaising with solicitors, social workers, and psychiatrists professionally and very well. None would know she had never done this before. She has supported other services and it can be seen her team have a great respect for her. Taking on the services on her own she has been a very bright light. Natalie is passionate about her colleagues and people we support, hardworking, reliable, willing to go above and beyond to ensure the people we support enjoy their lives, are supported and that the relevant individuals in their lives are kept up to date. Natalie never shows how hard it can be and she leads her team by example. Natalie is a superhero to all her services and to the people she comes into contact with.

  • Rachel Mundy Superhero

    Rachel Mundy

    Head of People and Culture, Fieldbay

    Rachel was nominated for her supportive approach as a manager and leader of the People and Culture team at Fieldbay. Always taking time out for people and developing them with clear guidance, advice and opportunities. Here’s a little more about why she was nominated… Rachel has led on some lovely initiatives such as promoting and rewarding our ‘Ray of Sunshines’ across Fieldbay; she always sees the best in people and wants to share this with the world. Despite difficult and complex issues that may arise Rachel handles these with a smile and treats the team with respect, trust and friendly communication. Rachel goes above and beyond by focusing on the littlest details to big strategic plans. There are countless examples of Rachel also getting involved with projects and tasks well outside of the remit of her job description. Rachel leads by example with her positive energy and solution focused approach to work and life.

  • Hema Hopkins Superhero

    Hema Hopkins

    Bank Support Worker at New Directions

    Hema was nominated for consistently supporting all services tirelessly and to a high standard. Despite being bank he has used his experience to help lead the shifts and received constant positive feedback from colleagues and people we support alike. Having been with us for 5 years now he has been integral to our support and sustained this all while studying full time this past year.

  • Angela Montague Superhero

    Angeal Montague

    Housekeeper, Vision Mental Healthcare

    Angela was nominated because her colleagues said “she is a quiet and unassuming star in our hospital”. Here’s a little more about why Angela was nominated… Angela navigated the requirement to maintain the cleanliness in the hospital to the highest standards despite the pandemic and did this brilliantly. Angela has had some challenges over the past few months but irrespective of this, has continued to work tirelessly and has even put in extra shifts to cover when needed. In addition to the housekeeping, Angela will also step in to cover the kitchen duties if our cook is on leave and is fab at managing lunches too! In fact, if there is anything you need help with, if she can manage it, Angela will definitely step-up. Through this entire period, and even when it is clear she is super-tired, Angela still has a smile and a cheeky joke for us. We think she is wonderful and deserves acknowledgment for her marvellous efforts, along with a great big thank you from us.

  • Jason Taylor Superhero

    Jason Taylor

    Maintenance, TLC Care and Support

    Jason was nominated for going above and beyond. Here’s a little more about why Jason was nominated… Jason works in the maintenance team at TLC but does so much more than this. Jason goes over and above his role – day in day out and makes a difference to the lives of the people we support. From being on call and responding to emergencies outside his working hours, to planning and organising social events such as our firework party and Christmas grotto and party in the coming weeks, he’s a real integral part of the service and this improves the quality of life for the people who live here. Jason has also worked to increase his understanding and knowledge and has worked closely with the PBS team to find new solutions to enhance environments. Jason has attended training to increase his understanding of the people we support including NAPPI and he works closely with LH a person we support and getting him involved in projects around site teaching him new skills, even supporting him to go and buy work trousers so he really looks the part too!

  • Jade Hall Superhero

    Jade Hall

    Business Support, Heathcotes Group

    Jade was nominated to recognise the significant professional and personal contribution that Jade makes to Heathcotes. Here’s a little more about why Jade was nominated… In the 12 months I have worked with Jade as a recruiter, she has developed so much, enrolling on the CIPD Level 3 and is about to embark on a new role in the People Team! It has been such a difficult 18 months for anyone working in recruitment, yet Jade has bought brightness, energy, enthusiasm, laughter, and her whole self to work every single day, despite having some personal challenges recently too. I am very proud of what Jade has achieved in recruitment and look forward to seeing what she will do in a colleague focussed role, in helping us with retention and hearing colleague feedback.

  • Donna Kemp Superhero

    Donna Kemp

    PBS, TLC Care and Support

    Donna was nominated for helping and supporting where needed even when it was not her role to do so. Here’s a little more about why Donna was nominated… Donna, who despite moving to PBS in September, due to a need for someone to oversee Mill Lane stepped in for 5 weeks and when requested extended this. She has used the time to support the service, support a Registered Manager who was overseeing the service and the staff team. She has worked with the staff team looking after the individuals, working side by side and showing them best practice, listening to them, and debriefing them. There has been a positive change to the staff team, and this is partly due to Donna’s influence. She brings enthusiasm and care to the team and always has a can do attitude which spreads within a team. She will always try to help and I thank her for supporting two of my services and staff teams during very challenging times, with a reliable, hard working approach.

  • Mae Lorenzo Superhero

    Mae Lorenzo

    Manager, Heathcotes Group

    Mae was nominated for being a leader that sets a high standard. Here’s a little more about why Mae was nominated… Mae is a leader who does not mind getting her hands dirty, a leader by example who sets a high standard in care and colleague performance. Mae is emphatic with the needs of the people we support and colleagues. We receive a lot of compliments each time we have visitors coming in for the first time and it's all down to how this home is managed. Mae advocates for the rights of the people we support, is friendly and at the same time professional too. Dawson House will not be where it is if not for her leadership and all she has done for Dawson House. Mae is a person who empowers others and is always happy when colleagues or people we support achieve something.

  • Harvey C Superhero

    Person We Support at Fieldbay

    Harvey was nominated for making amazing progress with his recovery and the way in which he has dealt with challenges over the last year. Here’s a little more about why Harvey was nominated… Harvey was nominated by his support staff for the amazing progress he has made during his recovery this year. Despite the challenges of the last year having lost close friends, Harvey has done so admirably and bravely humbling those around him. Harvey is an inspiration and a true reminder to not let life drag you down.

  • Donna Blackwell Superhero

    Donna Blackwell

    Registered Manager, TLC Care and Support

    Donna was nominated for working tirelessly not only to support her own services but the whole Clacton area. Here’s a little more about why Donna was nominated… In August Donna went to support a new service where it was quickly noted by outside agencies the changes to the service. Donna continued to support the service whilst ensuring her own services were continuing to provide support and care to the individuals there. Donna has shown great collaboration supporting agencies from Enhanced Support, social workers and psychiatrists which has also been acknowledged for the way she has worked with them for the best interest of the individuals living at TLC. Donna is supportive of her staff teams, and other managers and staff within TLC North Essex. She brings an atmosphere of calm, someone you are able to talk to, a friendly environment whilst working to ensure the very best in the service for individuals and colleagues alike. She always thanks her staff team, brings little treats for them and acknowledges their hard work. To me she is a superhero as she does this quietly, willingly and is an inspiration to her team. In North Essex we are lucky to have her.
